On February 23-26, 2019, the United Methodist Church will hold a special session of its top decision making body (called “General Conference”) to discuss and deliberate on three proposals from our Council of Bishops that address the issue of human sexuality.
What are these three proposals?
How were they arrived at?
What’s at stake for our denomination if one of them is adopted?
And how might any of this affect us here at McKendree UMC?
Here at McKendree UMC will we be addressing these questions in a special four-session class hosted and facilitated by our appointed pastors and lay leadership on the following dates (childcare is provided for all sessions):
Wednesdays at 5:45pm in the Music Room on November 7, 14, 28, and Dec 5
Tuesdays at 6:30pm in the Lockridge Fellowship Hall on November 13, 27, Dec 4 and 11
(Note: topics each Tuesday will be a repeat of the topics from the prior Wednesday)
